Kyle Walker breaks his silence on furious Arsenal bust-up as he vows to apologise to Gunners coach

KYLE WALKER will apologise to Arsenal coach Nicolas Jover after their bust-up.

The defender exploded as Jover offered a handshake following this month’s 1-0 loss at the Emirates — after he refused to shake hands with Manchester City players twice last term.

Jover sought out Walker at the end as he sparked an ugly bust-up.

The furious City skipper snubbed the gesture and squared up to the set-piece coach, part of Pep Guardiola’s Etihad staff for two years before joining Arsenal in 2021.

City won both Prem games last season, 3-1 at Arsenal in February and then 4-1 in April, to pip their rivals to the title.

Jover stood with hands behind his back after both games and made it clear he would not shake hands.

Walker, preparing for England’s Euro 2024 qualifier with Italy at Wembley tonight, said: “I don’t like losing.  A couple of matches before, Nico did not want to shake hands when we beat them.

“When we lost, he wanted to shake my hand and I did not take it lightly.  I will probably reach out to him. It was probably a bit too much.

“It was a big match there and losing in the way we did and so late on hurt.”

Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish were also involved in a spat with members of the Gunners’ backroom team.

Arsenal star Ben White almost burst into fits of laughter as Grealish was beckoned down the tunnel.

His England team-mate Bukayo Saka, who missed the game through injury, calmed down Jover and ushered him away from the City stars.
