Online car auction house, Collecting Cars, has a real gem on its books with a Land Rover Discovery 3 that previously belonged to Prince Charles prior to him becoming King.

The all-purpose British 4×4 was delivered to The Royal Garage at Highgrove House in 2007, and the car is accompanied by official letters which confirm its history – including one from the royal head chauffeur.

The Disco comes from the 2.7-litre TDV6, producing 195bhp with permanent four-wheel-drive.

With just three owners from new the all-wheel-drive SUV has covered 117,816 miles, and comes with luxury kit such as heated front and rear seats, a cooled storage box, cruise control and black leather upholstery.

Collecting Cars lists the paintwork as being in fair condition, although there are some signs of broken trim on the exterior and a cracked brake light.

An extra bonus point is that it comes with almost a full year’s MOT, but you’ll need to be aware of the four advisory points on the certificate.

The service history is good, too, with the most recent check-up being in March 2022 when technicians replaced the engine oil, filters and windscreen wipers.

If you want to feel a little bit royal-like driving around your local area, you’ll be pleased to know that the current bid is around £5,500, so it could be a bit of a bargain – but be quick as the auction ends at 7.30pm tonight.
