Chicago West is growing up so fast. On Jan. 15, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s youngest daughter turned 5, and her mom posted a sweet birthday tribute to her on Instagram to mark the special occasion.
Kardashian shared a trio of photos featuring her and Chicago on her grid. In the first, she and her daughter are snuggling and making kiss faces at the camera; in the second, Chi is striking a pose; and in the last pic, she’s giving her mom a big hug. The Skims founder captioned the post with a birthday message for her “twin.”
“My twin. Happy 5th Birthday,” she wrote. “I really can’t believe you’re 5! I’m so so proud to be your mom, it’s the best feeling in the entire world. You are the cuddliest sweetest silliest most independent caring girl in the whole world and I just love you so much!”
Chicago’s mom isn’t the only one who is celebrating her on her birthday. The little one’s grandmother Kris Jenner shared her own tribute to Chi alongside a carousel of photos on her Instagram featuring her granddaughter with her, Kardashian, and her siblings – North (9), Saint (7), and Psalm (3). “Happy birthday to my beautiful granddaughter Chi Chi!!!!” Jenner’s caption began.
“You are our little doll who lights up every room. You bring the sunshine and the smiles every day and are so kind, sweet, loving, artistic, creative, generous, funny, and give the best hugs,” she continued. “You are the most amazing daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend and I am so blessed God chose me to be your grandmother!!! I love you more than you will ever know!!!! Lovey xoxo ❤️🙏😍🥰🥳🎂🎁🎈”
Since her divorce from West, Kardashian has been open about coparenting and trying to keep things as normal as possible for her kids. In a December 2022 interview with “Angie Martinez IRL,” the mom of four revealed why she doesn’t delve into West’s drama with her children.
“If [my kids] don’t know things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” she asked. “You know, that’s real heavy, heavy, grownup sh*t that they’re not ready to deal with, and if they are, we’ll have those conversations . . . and I’ll be so prepared. But until then, I’ll do anything to keep their lives as normal as possible.”
