Nurmagomedov, 34, retired at the peak of his powers after promising his mother he’d call it a day following the passing of his late father, Abdulmanap.

But the Russian wrecking machine is content with his life outside of fighting, saying during a recent Q&A: “I finished my career because I promised my mother [I’d stop].

“But we have a lot of different things that people don’t know about. I follow not only this promise to my mother, I follow everything about my mother.

“Run from it all you want. We all lose in the end. Death takes us all. I fear nothing but God.”
