The latest instalment of Kevin Costner and his ex-wife’s messy public divorce has seen Christine Baumgartner hit back against claims that she plans to “strip the house bare”.
According to an Entertainment Tonight report, Baumgartner has filed new legal documents disputing the need for an emergency hearing over the former couple’s belongings, claiming that she provided Costner’s lawyers with “pictures of the items she plans to remove” from their family home of 18 years.
She claimed that a meeting to ensure she didn’t ”strip the house bare” is “uncalled for”, after a judge rules that she must discuss removing any items from her former home she shared with the Yellowstone star in Santa Barbara, California, which she was ordered to vacate by July 31.

Baumgartner, 49, claims she provided her ex-husband’s lawyers with a PDF with pictures of the personal belongings she removed, after claims from Costner’s lawyers that her list was “hopelessly vague and ambiguous”.
She doubled down, insisting that Costner, 68, would “not be harmed” by the removal of the items, some of which allegedly include silverware, pots, pans and some swivel chairs, her Peloton bike, family heirlooms, clothing and keepsakes from friends – which she says she specifically rented an off-site storage unit to store in.
The handbag designer is also requesting a ”mother/daughter horse picture” from their Aspen, Colorado estate.

Baumgartner’s retaliation comes after Costner’s lawyers claim she has been “planning her exit” from the marriage long before she informed her husband of her intentions, with a few big ticket purchases being “red flags”.
According to Costner’s legal team, Baumgartner “has shown a disturbing propensity in the last several months, both before and after separation, to take [Kevin’s] property without his knowledge or consent, especially since this case was filed”.
The Yellowstone actor alleges that his ex-wife took $25,000 from his property funds to pay a Los Angeles criminal defence lawyer, and also purchased a luxury car months before they broke up.

Costner’s attorney noted the vehicle purchase was a red flag, as the pair always leased their cars. According to the prenuptial agreement they both signed in 2004, each individual gets to keep any personal vehicles in the event of a break-up.
The actor’s lawyers alleged that by buying this car, it proves she “had been planning her exit long before she told [Kevin] in April 2023”.
