Katie Boulter sparks engagement rumours as she flashes huge ring in Australian Open crowd while watching Alex de Minaur

KATIE BOULTER has sparked rumours of an engagement to Alex de Minaur.

It comes after she was spotted with a huge ring on her finger while watching De Minaur at the Australian Open.

Boulter, 27, is Britain’s No1 woman tennis star.

However, she has already bowed out of the Australian open in both singles and doubles.

Last week she fell to a straight set defeat to 12th seed Qinwen Zheng before another straight set loss with Petra Martic to fifth seeds Laura Siegemund and Barbora Krejcikova.

But yesterday Boulter was courtside as she watched boyfriend De Minaur, 24, face off with Andrey Rublev.

Cameras picked up her reaction throughout the game.

And while the Australian bowed out in a five-set thriller, eagle-eyed fans spotted something curious on Boulter’s ring finger.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were in uproar suggesting that Boulter and De Minaur were now engaged.

One fan said: “KATIE BOULTER AND ALEX DE MINUAR ENGAGED!!! HE PUT A RING ON IT LOOK!”

A second said: “Is Katie Boulter wearing an engagement ring?”

Despite sending the rumour-mill into overdrive, De Minaur admitted earlier this month that popping the question was not on the cards just yet.

Speaking at a press conference, he was asked whether he would propose to Katie at the Australian Open.

He replied: “Jeez. Putting me on the spot here.

“Yeah, it’s not on the cards just yet. Not ruling it out. For the time being, I’m going to try to focus on playing tennis and then we’ll think about the off-court activities.

Although he did admit winning his home grand slam might accelerate his plans.

Boulter has been dating De Minaur since 2020.
