Kanye West has made his grand return to Instagram with a declaration of love for actor Jonah Hill.
Months after being banned from the social media platform over a slew of anti-Semitic posts, West claimed Hill’s acting in 21 Jump Street made him change his mind about being anti-Semitic.
“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street made me like Jewish people again,” the rapper, 45, wrote alongside a poster for the 2012 movie.

“No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people,” he continued.
“No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew,” West said, before concluding: “Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”
West saw his social media accounts locked in the second half of 2022 after he made a string of anti-Semitic posts and published multiple offensive rants to both Instagram and Twitter.

Some of West’s posts promoted violence, and he has been receiving widespread criticism for his actions.
A plethora of celebrities denounced the DONDA artist, and brands and companies including Gap, Balenciaga, Adidas, JPMorgan Chase, and Vogue cut all working ties with him, resulting in his loss of billionaire status.
West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian also spoke out against him, after her sister Khloé Kardashian wrote on Instagram that she supports her “Jewish friends and the Jewish people.”

When he was later given the chance to apologise, West, who lives with bipolar disorder, said he was “happy” about his remarks.
In late October, West’s Twitter restriction was lifted, and on November 4 he said he was “mentally misdiagnosed” in a post on the platform.
He also later claimed to have been “nearly drugged out of [his] mind” in the past in order to be “a manageable well-behaved celebrity.”
