Kaley Cuoco’s boyfriend Tom Pelphrey had ‘never’ watched Big Bang Theory: ‘I live in a cave’

Kaley Cuoco is known for her role as Penny Hofstadter in the hit American sitcom, The Big Bang Theory.

But this week, her boyfriend Tom Pelphrey, 41, revealed in a candid new interview with W Magazine when they first met, he had never actually watched any of the films and TV shows she’s starred in.

He hilariously recalled the moment he took the actress to meet his family in New Jersey and he had no idea why his mum’s partner kept calling Cuoco, ‘Penny’.

“I pulled Kaley aside, like, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t understand what’s happening. Why does he keep calling you Penny?'” Pelphrey said.

Explaining why he had never watched any of her projects, he said he had been pretty much living off the grid before they met.

“Look, I live in a cave. Before I met Kaley, I was living in upstate New York, on a dirt road, in the middle of the woods, without much Wi-Fi. She’s brought me into modern times.”

Cuoco is known for roles in the Big Bang Theory, Meet Cute and The Wedding Ringer.

She and her co-stars reportedly made up to one million dollars each per episode during the later seasons of the show, which ran from 2007 to 2019.

The couple first met in April last year and Cuoco told USA Today it was “love at first sight”.

“I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting. It hit me. It was love at first sight,” she said.

Ozark star Pelphrey previously called Cuoco his “favourite person” and the couple welcomed daughter Matilda in March.

“The new light of our lives! We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, family and friends who have helped us immensely over the last few days. We are blessed beyond belief,” Cuoco wrote on Instagram when she announced the birth.

She added: “@tommypelphrey didn’t think I could fall even more in love with you, but I did.”

She recently revealed she suffers from ‘mummy wrist,’ a type of tendonitis that causes pain on the thumb side of the wrist.

It is common in parents of newborns because of repeatedly carrying, holding, or feeding a baby in certain way.

“Are you kidding me?” the actress wrote alongside a photo of her wrist in a splint in her Instagram stories.

Cuoco and ex-husband Karl Cook finalised their divorce last year after four years of marriage.
