Kai Havertz snubs former Chelsea team-mates as Arsenal star names the best striker he’s ever played with

KAI HAVERTZ has delivered a brutal snub to his ex-Chelsea colleagues by naming a current Arsenal team-mate as the best striker he has played with.

The 24-year-old German international arrived at the Emirates from Chelsea in a £65million deal over the summer.

Despite playing as a forward at Chelsea throughout his three years at Stamford Bridge, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta revealed that he was planning to deploy Havertz in a new position.

The star has been lining-up in midfield and had struggled to impress in that role prior to last weekend and had produced just one goal and assist in his first 19 appearances.

But after calls from Arsenal legends to replace him in midfield, Havertz silenced some of his critics with the late goal to seal Saturday’s 1-0 win at Brentford to move his team top of the league.

And he followed that up with another strike in Wednesday’s 6-0 victory over Lens in the Champions League.

Now Havertz has rediscovered his scoring form, SportDaily were keen to know who was the best striker that he has ever lined-up alongside.

He has played with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Olivier Giroud at Chelsea as well his fellow countryman and fellow ex-Blue Timo Werner.

He has also played alongside the legendary Thomas Muller for Germany – but it is one of his new pals at Arsenal that was his top pick.

And that man was ex-Man City star and Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus – who was also on target against Lens.

Havertz said: “I have to say really I think the best.

“I knew this before as well but now I see it in every training session.

“It’s an honour to play with players like this, he’s one of those players who can turn a game around by himself and I think he’s the best.”
