Julian Nagelsmann gives Tottenham major transfer demand as he stalls on deal to take over with club in crisis

JULIAN NAGELSMANN has told Tottenham to give him a decisive say in transfer dealings to become manager, according to reports.

And with dwindling hopes of a top-four finish, the club then decided to sack Antonio Conte’s ex-assistant Cristian Stellini from his role as caretaker boss.

They have appointed Ryan Mason as their search for a new permanent manager continues – which would be their third in just over two years.

Ex-Bayern Munich coach Nagelsmann has long been earmarked for the role.

And after he pulled out of the race to become Chelsea‘s next boss he is now the frontrunner for the Spurs gig.

The Independent reports club chairman Daniel Levy would prefer to have Nagelsmann in before the end of the season.

However, the 35-year-old German still needs convincing to join in the first place.

One way Levy can reportedly convince Nagelsmann to join would be by handing him a decisive say in transfers.

Deals at the club are usually overseen by the board or the recently departed director of football Fabio Paratici.

Spurs face a difficult run-in, featuring games against Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa, as well as London derbies against Crystal Palace, Brentford and West Ham.

As it stands they are six points adrift of the top four, having played two games more than fourth-place Man Utd – who they face on Thursday evening.
