Jeremy Renner reveals he is still struggling with his recovery following a near-fatal accident

Jeremy Renner has opened up about the struggles he has faced during his recovery from a near-fatal snowplough accident in 2023. 

The 53-year-old actor candidly discussed how some days are harder than others, taking to his Instagram stories to share a video of himself on a treadmill. 

“Today was a Struggle Day,” Renner wrote in a video.

“Though it’s disheartening, It only reminded [me] of my progress,” it concluded.

Renner was pulled under a snowplough and crushed when he was trying to stop the tractor from sliding and hitting his nephew on New Year’s Day in 2023.

The actor broke his right knee, right ankle, left leg, tibia, left ankle, right shoulder and eight ribs in the freak accident.

Runner updated Entertainment Tonight on his recovery in February.

“[I’m doing] probably 90 per cent of all the things I needed to be doing… I think another six months will be hopefully running [more]… I got to set goals for myself,” he said.

“I’ll do whatever I can… whatever it takes to get better, to get stronger,” Renner continued to tell ET.

“It’s a one-way street, this recovery. The rest of my life is about health and wellness.”

“Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man. There’s always something to do to get better, be stronger, be happier, be healthier, and that’s what I look forward to.”

Renner told his Instagram followers he has been “exploring every type of therapy” in his recovery.

“Everyday, countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, IV drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on,” he shared on social media.

Renner made his grand return to acting in the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, which premieres on Paramount+ on June 2nd this year.
