Jenna Ortega’s Viral “Wednesday” Dance Is Taking Over TikTok

TikTok’s latest dance trend is a personal invitation from Wednesday to unleash your inner Addams. Jenna Ortega’s self-choreographed dance moves in the new Netflix series inspired a new dance challenge set to Lady Gaga‘s 2011 song “Bloody Mary.” A mix of Addams Family classics and ’80s goth nightclub moves, the dance is inspiring would-be Nevermore students of all ages to put on their best scowls and shimmy like nobody’s watching.

The dance is set to “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps in the series, but fans have remixed it by setting the TikTok choreo to “Bloody Mary,” which is separately featured on the “Wednesday” soundtrack. The homage to the “Bad Romance” singer even inspired Gaga herself to try out the viral dance.

For most, the dance begins with the outfit: a black dress, dark eyeshadow, and perfect plaits. As the music fades in, most dancers begin by glaring at the camera as their shoulders shimmy in time with the beat. Next comes the fun part: throwing your arms over your head like a rag doll and swinging from side to side before making a dramatic 180-degree turn. (Bonus points if you don’t blink.)

To continue, make eye contact with any spectators, and jerk your arms back and forth. Throw in another rag-doll arm swing with your hands clenched in the shape of claws, and proceed to scoot from side to side with your elbows raised horizontally. Finally, throw in another wave of your monster claws and some free-form arm wiggles, and you’ve completed the “Bloody Mary.”
