The nominations for the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are here. “Emily is Paris” star Ashley Park and “The White Lotus” actor Haley Lu Richardson announced this year’s nominees on Jan. 11 on Instagram Live, where they honored some of our favorite movies and TV shows from the past year – including “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “The Bear,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and more. SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher and Elizabeth McLaughlin were also on hand to announce the nominees in the stunt categories.
The 2023 SAG Awards, which has yet to announce a host, will be held on Feb. 26 and, starting this year, the star-studded award show will air live on Netflix, a decision that was announced shortly before they revealed their nominations. Netflix will stream the show next month on YouTube before switching over to its main platform in 2024.
The SAG Awards are considered one of the biggest precursors for Oscar nominations (which will come out on Jan. 24). On the film side, “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” both snagged a whopping five nominations, including best ensemble and individual nods for everyone in their main casts. Meanwhile, some of the surprising nominations in both TV and film included Adam Sandler for “Hustle,” Hong Chau for “The Whale,” and Christina Applegate for “Dead to Me.” Applegate previously said filming “Dead to Me” with MS was the “hardest thing” she’s done.
Ahead, check out all the 2023 SAG Awards nominees.
