And they came face-to-face in the Middle East in front of the media – who almost got to witness the two bitter rivals scrapping before any bell.
Fortunately, heavyweight star Derek Chisora was on hand to help keep them apart.
The trouble erupted after Paul threw out a stunning DOUBLE OR NOTHING deal – which was accepted by Fury.
The 26-year-old said: “I think we make a deal then, since you are so confident.
“If you win I will pay you double what I’m paying you already. But if I win then I take everything that I’m paying you.
“Deal or no deal, since you’re so confident?”
At that point, the American lifts up his microphone and gets to his feet before Fury followed suit and replied: “Why have you got to stand up like you are about to do something. Sit back down.”
John Fury, Tommy’s father then chimed in by saying: “You’ve got a deal. All or nothing. You’ve got it.”

Then both fighters marched forwards to shake hands on the agreement before a couple of shadow punches were thrown before Chisora, dressed in traditional Middle Eastern attire as the mediator, got between them along with several other individuals.”
Paul has won his six boxing fights so far against a group of amateurs and celebrities.
However, he is incredibly confident he has the skills and mentality to beat his fellow undefeated rival, the 8-0 Brit.
But Fury earlier yawned with boredom and looked genuinely bemused as he was shown a chilling X-rated warning from Paul that threatened to “decapitate” him.

Earlier in the press conference, John Fury had said: “We don’t do pressure of any description. He has been on the big stage most of his life.
“He has been under pressure right from the off. I wouldn’t have my son sat here if he couldn’t deliver. He would not disgrace our great champion Tyson.
“We have worked more on Saudi manners than preparing for the event. We have left no stone unturned.
“We are coming here to knock Jake Paul out. I can’t wait. There will be defeat for Jake Paul.
“He is a nice kid. Without him we wouldn’t be here. So thank you very much.
“If Jake Paul beats Tommy, he does not deserve the money!”
The confident Paul said: “We have picked this guy apart, he has a good jab, speed and footwork. He is a good boxer but not a great boxer.
“This lack of defence will be exposed on Sunday.
“I take every fight seriously. When Tommy says he has been doing it his whole life, it means nothing. This is the biggest opportunity of his life.
“He was getting paid peanuts compared to this. This is what I do. To me, this is a speed bump and a cake walk.
“He is a good boxer, he has inflatable arms. He is top heavy like the Michelin man. His opponents have a combined record of 20 wins and 250 losses.
“He has never been put in there with someone who wasn’t there to lose. He has never been eight rounds. He will get into the deep water and drown.”
