A SAVVY car expert has urged drivers to look at three great looking motors priced at under £5,000 that he says are sure to turn heads.
Jonny Brighton of the YouTube channel CarsWithJB picked out a handful of affordable whips that really look the business – including a luxury modern classic.

For fans of iconic classics, Jonny picked out the original Mini as an affordable motor with a whole lot of style.
Jonny said: “The original Mini might be one of the most most iconic looking cars of all time.
“Through its many years, manufacturers and iterations, it retained that same look and size that made it such a special and cool little car with history dating all the way back to 1959.”
Jonny reveals that for the £5,000 price limit, buyers will likely only get into one of the more recent Mini models – the Mk7 Rover.
He added: “You’ll be getting a 1.3-litre inline-four engine that makes 62bhp – taking it to 60 mph in 12.2 seconds.”
Of course, getting a Mini isn’t about pace and performance, but rather owning a piece of history that’s still wildly practical today.
Jonny added that £4,500 will get you a standard, non-modified Mini while £5,000 is enough for a 1994 model with 100,000 miles on the clock.
Better yet, for those willing to get their hands dirty, the tiny classic is mechanically very strong and incredibly simple to work on if it goes wrong.
On the other end of the motoring scale but still very much as iconic is the Mercedes 190 E – a beastly saloon brimming with class.
Described by Jonny as “possibly the most well-loved Mercedes of all time”, its design, while very simple, still looks “stunning for the money” and is “grandiose enough to be luxury, but boxy enough to have captured the imaginations of car modders around the world.”
The 190 E comes with a large 2-litre motor that produces 118bhp, with Jonny explaining that the model was “massively over-engineered,” giving the range its reputation for reliability.
What’s more, just £3,000 could get you a set of keys to a 190 E, with a 1993 model with 100,000 miles on the clock likely to be no more than £5,000.

And from one good looking motor to another, Jonny next urged drivers to consider the Alfa Romeo Brera.
A set of wheels that oozes class, Jonny explains that the Brera was designed by famed Italian car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, who worked on motors as diverse as the DMC Delorean through to the Volkswagen Golf Mk1.
“It’s easily one of the best looking Alfas of the modern era…with its swooping lines, two long doors and slope at the back,” he added.
Despite the Italian motor’s prettiness, prices for it start at just £2,000, while £5,000 will be enough to put you in the driving seat of a 2009 model with just 80,000 miles on the clock.
This comes as Jonny named three cars set to become “incredibly valuable” in next 12 months… including an iconic Subaru model.
Elsewhere, the final Audi R8 has rolled off the German brand’s production line, with the iconic sports car officially discontinued after 17 brilliant years.
Uncertainty surrounds the future of the namebadge, with an electric replacement possibly in the works.
