‘It’s more of a garden shed’, cry van owners after facing disaster while converting motor into full-time home

A COUPLE has compared their van to a garden shed after facing disaster during its transformation into their full-time home.

The pair who were made homeless just two weeks before Christmas decided to spend their hard earned cash on a 15-year-old white transit.

A TikTok creator and his girlfriend took the leap to live in a van

Despite issues, it’s starting to look homely

The gear stick on the van is currently broken

TikTok account creator @mrbeastclipit and his girlfriend ripped the motor apart to start making it their humble abode.

Getting to work, in something they had no experience in, the Citroen soon started to look less like a builder’s haven.

The original floors were pulled up and cupboards started going in.

To make it more homely, they added panelling and cut a window in the side to let natural light flow in.

While it all seemed to be going well, the pair soon came to a few bumps in the road.

The content creator explained in a recent video, adding water pipes to the vehicle proved a lot more difficult than expected – on top of all the normal motor issues you run into.

He told his 67,000 followers: “We then fitted all of our water stuff, including our water tank and water pipe and water pump.

“Which, I haven’t spoken about yet because it needs some tweaking.

“We thought we were getting somewhere, and then the clutch on the van went.

“But we wont speak about that because it’s still not fixed.

“So at the minute, the van is more of a garden shed than a van.”

Throughout the van building journey, the couple shared videos on TikTok in a bid to “open up some people’s minds on a certain cheaper, freer way of living”.

“You don’t need the best, most expensive stuff,” he added.

They conceded that the van doesn’t need to be perfect, but could act as an alternative for people struggling to pay their bills and comfortable with a new lifestyle.

Concluding, he said: “To be honest with you, I want to see if it’s possible too!”

Their followers praised the couple for their innovative way to life.

One said: “More people need to do this,” while a second commented: “This is gold!

“Explore the nature, you guys will definitely live happier than being stuck somewhere!”

A third urged: “Do it when you are young!”

“There are no hurdles except the ones we create for ourselves!”

While someone else said: “I love this video! I bought a van for 2k two years ago, spent another 2.5k on the build.
