‘It swallows up the potholes and bumps’ cries car dealership owner over popular motor brand ideal for the countryside

A CAR dealership owner has revealed which motor brand he believes is ideal for the countryside.

The YouTuber said the car was “absolutely brilliant” for people who live in rural areas as it can “swallow up” potholes and bumps.

YouTuber James said the Dacia Duster car was ‘absolutely brilliant’

The dealer marvelled at how it managed to climb a hill with ‘no problem at all’

Another Dacia Duster fan described the car as ‘absolutely perfect’

James from Chops Garage shared a clip to social media of him driving a Dacia Duster car and marvelling at its capabilities.

He said: “I have to say, despite the fact it has an engine management light on it, it is absolutely brilliant. I love it. I absolutely love it.

“If you live in a rural area and you need something with the right height, and you want something that’s going to swallow up the potholes and the bumps, but you still want to have a bit of fun, I have to say, I’d put this along par with the TwinAir Fiat Panda 4×4 that I love so much.”

The YouTuber added that the engine felt “particularly good”.

As he drove up a hill, he commented: “I’ve just gone up this massive hill in sixth gear and it’s almost made it no problem at all.

“It’s got loads of punch.”

He added that “there’s no real body roll” and that he was having “loads of fun throwing [the car] around”.

The body control, for a car as raised as the Dacia Duster, was “really impressive”, he said.

Dacia Dusters are relatively affordable secondhand, available through Car Gurus from £3,995 and through the AA from £6,990.

Many car lovers shared the YouTuber’s appreciation for the motor, writing their thoughts in the comment section beneath his video.

One fan wrote: “Love my Duster. It’s the face-lifted model, bought new last year, and I’m very pleased with it.

“It’s really nice to drive, wireless AirPlay, all round reversing cameras, cruise control, speed limiter, and for the price it’s amazing value.

“Mine gets a fair bit of off road work up the farm tracks and across fields, and handles it all admirably.”

Another said that he also loved his Duster.

Someone else wrote: “That Duster, absolutely perfect car.

“Most comfortable vehicle I’ve been in, got a wrecked back & I can go any distance in the Duster.

“Get one of the after market fitted camp beds/kitchen for the back & you’re sorted.”

James’ rave review of the Dacia Duster comes after he admitted to selling a Hyundai i10 to a dealer a bit too quickly, and urged others not to make the same mistake.

The YouTube creator, who flip buys from British Car Auctions, Copart and Private Sales, agreed to buy the car due to its excellent condition and it having just 11,000 miles on the clock.

He promptly sold it to a higher-end dealer – only to discover, when he returned to the office, an email from a customer who was looking for an i10 and had about £8,000 to spend.

James confessed that he sold the car on so quickly out of “fear” that he would be unable to sell it on for the right price.

The knowledgeable dealer also let his fans in on a secret £10 check which could save prospective motor buyers thousands.

In a video shared to YouTube, he showed drivers how to easily check important details about their second-hand car online or via an app.

James, who had just taken delivery of a new Ford for his dealership, said: “I haven’t actually paid for it yet so I should probably get my [vehicle history check] done and make sure I’m not buying a car with a dodgy history.”

A vehicle history check can tell you if it has ever failed an MOT, been written off, or even if it has been reported as stolen.

The most in-depth checks will cost you between £10 and £30 and reveal if the car has ever been reported stolen, sustained damage, or been written off – as well as provide service and ownership records.
