Woods is the reason for some of the most memorable moments in Masters history and fans will be hoping they will be able to see the veteran step on the first tee box when the tournament starts.
The action gets underway on Thursday, April 11 and with the 88-man field hoping to go as low as possible to make the weekend cut.
Perhaps the most highly anticipated major of the year, eyes will be glued to the fairways to see who will don the Green Jacket come Sunday 14.
And patrons in Georgia will be keen to know if 15-time major champion Woods will be among the names vying to wear the prestigious prize.
Is Tiger Woods playing in the Masters this year?
Despite a long-term battle with injuries, Tiger Woods is expected to return to the course for this year’s Masters.
The 48-year-old was included in a list of players who are taking part in this year’s tournament on the official Masters website.
Woods is still recovering from his ankle surgery last year that added to a whole host of injuries he has suffered in recent time.
But despite concerns over how his fitness issues may impact his on-course performance, Woods will be taking to the Augusta fairways in a bid to maintain his record of never missing the cut at the Masters.
Woods previously made a return to Augusta in 2022 – coming 47th – just 14 months after nearly losing his leg in a car crash.
And was forced to withdraw from last year’s tournament with back problems on day three.
When did Tiger Woods last play on the PGA Tour?
Woods’ injuries have forced him to take a lot of time away from pro golf and focus on his rehabilitation.
But after a long break working on his health the superstar returned to action to take part in the Genesis Invitational in February.
His highly anticipated return coincided with the launch of his new clothing line with TaylorMade, but his participation didn’t go to plan.
Woods was forced to withdraw from the tournament on day two citing illness as his reason for heading home early.
And his first day back on the course hadn’t gone swimmingly either after he hit an uncharacteristic shank on the 18th hole.
