Inter also recruited Messi’s long-time team-mate Sergio Busquets – who left Barcelona at the end of the season – earlier this week.
And the Americans are working on reuniting the duo with defender Jordi Alba.
Marca claims Inter chiefs have already discussed a potential move to Miami with the full-back, who will officially become a free agent at the end of the month.
Alba, however, is currently fielding offers from Saudi Arabia, Spain and several other European clubs.
Spain skipper Alba announced his departure from the Nou Camp in an emotional video in May, in which he said: “Thank you.
“Thank you to my parents and my brother for everything you’ve taught me. Thank you to my friends for sharing this journey with me.
“Thank you to all of my team-mates, the staff, coaches, presidents and all the employees I’ve been fortunate enough to meet during my 18 years at the club.
“I also want to thank my children for the strength they give me every day, and I thank my wife for her unwavering support.
