Therme Erding can be found just north of Munich and is visited by 5,000 people each day, looking to make use of its many facilities.
Among them are a tropical spa, a thermal spa, a wave pool, a waterpark, private lounges, cocktail bars and restaurants.
One of the spa’s stand out attractions is its waterpark, Galaxy Water Slide World.
It’s Europe’s biggest “slide world” and has 28 different slides, providing something different for people of all ages.
Highlights include the Magic Eye, the longest tube slide in the world at 365 metres, while Big Bang, Kamikaze and X-Treme Faser offer similarly thrilling experiences.
For those more interested in relaxing, there are more than enough options.
As many as 24 different themed saunas and steam baths, including Siberian saunas and Russian Banjas mean that everyone’s persuasion is catered for.
A range of different massages can be booked, while private lounges like the family rooms and lakeside chalets offer a secluded place to relax, away from the other visitors.
Food and drinks can be ordered from the several on-site eateries, including four different swim-up pool bars.
Meanwhile, burgers, snacks, seafood and any number of other dishes can be ordered from a vast array of different restaurants.
The majority of the resort is inside, but during the summer months, there are outdoor options to make the most of too.
Additional attractions such as extra pools, slides, a volleyball court and sunbathing facilities are opened in the thermal garden.
Meanwhile, the huge glass domes that the rest of the park is kept under can be opened to allow the warm weather from outside into the park.
The water is kept warm throughout the year however, with the wave pool kept at a consistently balmy 34C.
Visitors can enjoy the calming motion of smaller ripples in the water, or try their hand at surfing on much larger two-metre high waves.
There are even special events held at Therme Erding, including festivals featuring poolside DJs, acrobats and live cover bands.
Also coming up this year is the German waterslide racing championship, for which fans can take part and compete against others to get the fastest time down the park’s slides.
The spa has a total score of 4/5 on TripAdvisor, with the vast majority of people giving it the full five stars.
One wrote: “Was their last week and I’m already dreaming of going back! Truly amazing place.”
Another simply described it as a “true sauna paradise.”
A third added: “It really cannot get any more deeply relaxing and therapeutic than this.”
Prices for a visit to the spa start from £20.60 for a two hour visit and go up to £42 for the whole day.
Flights are available from the UK from around £68 return.
Meanwhile, developers hope this new £250m water attraction will be open in Manchester by 2025.
And this water attraction will be the first of its kind in the UK when it opens in Kent.
