A WETHERSPOONS next to the beach has been described as the best in the country by visitors, due to its atmosphere and its building.
Spoons pubs have become something of a landmark for UK towns, with many breathing new life into historic buildings.

However, the Picture House in Colwyn Bay, Wales, has been singled out as one of the best by its punters.
The pub can be found inside the former Princess cinema, which was built in 1914 and originally called the Princess Picture House.
A lot of the original art deco design features are still visible inside the pub today.
They include stained glass windows and lighting fixtures, as well as artwork on the walls.
They make the inside of the pub the perfect place for a pint according to plenty of people who’ve visited.
From the many five star reviews on TripAdvisor, many praised its atmosphere, with some saying its the best Spoons has to offer.
One wrote: “Let me start by saying I have visited many Wetherspoons.
“This has jumped to the number 1 spot for many reasons.
“Doesn’t look much from the outside but step in and its warm, cosy and such an easy place to sit in.”
Another wrote: “Having visited 238 Wetherspoon pubs/hotels my ‘top 5’ list is constantly updated.
“Many factors influence an individual’s choice but the building itself is, in my view, the major determinant.
“My ‘top 5’ list is as follows: THE PICTURE HOUSE, Colwyn Bay; THE COUNTING HOUSE, Canary Wharf; THE VELVET COASTER, Blackpool; MAN IN THE MOON, Newport, Isle of Wight; THE WINTER GARDENS, Harrogate.”
A third added: “We enjoy visiting each and every Wetherspoons in all the towns we visit. The Picture House in Colwyn Bay was not a disappointment – in fact one of the best!”
The pub’s location is also a major draw, as it sits right next to the beach.
Colwyn’s shore has been described as “great for swimming, watersports and fishing as well as cycling and walking along the coastal track” by Visit Conwy.
The sweeping sandy crescent was once a major holiday destination for Brits looking to get to the seaside and it’s becoming increasingly popular again.
As part of the Colwyn Bay Waterfront project, huge quantities of fresh sand have been imported and the promenade has been “refreshed and revitalised” to make it worthy of holidaymakers again.
Visit Conwy added: “We know that Colwyn Bay had its heyday as a full-on family seaside resort some time ago.
“But it’s changing as we speak – and today’s visitors are liking what they hear and find.”
As well as the Wetherspoons and the beach, visitors to the town can visit the Artisan Market and the Welsh Mountain zoo.
A night in Colwyn Bay can be found for around £47 for two people.
Meanwhile, these are some more of the most beautiful Wetherspoons pubs in the world.
