Inside London’s tiniest home – a steel box floating on a canal – as it goes on sale for bargain price

LONDON’S tiniest home is for sale at £6,500.

The 12ft by 6ft dwelling, called a butty, or towed boat, is a steel box floating on a canal.

London’s tiniest home, measuring just 12ft by 6ft, has gone on sale for £6,000

It has a two-ring hob cooker, solar power, freshwater tap, a pull-out toilet and even a bath.

There is also a single bed, a camp shower, bookshelf, storage space and a wood burner.

It costs just £100 a year to insure and license and no council tax is payable but if the owner wants to move they will need to be towed.

It is moored in Paddington, West London, where one bedroom flats sell for about £1million.

Seller Chris Hewish used it as a guest room.

He said: “I’ve enjoyed owning her but I have no space on the mooring I’ve just moved to.”
