He didn’t gain his driving licence until he was well into adulthood, so the iconic Queen singer’s first big buy was a Daimler DS420 Limo.

The German model was also driven by leaders across the globe and rated one of the best choices at the time due to its professional appearance.

He would later twin it with a 1986 Mercedes W126 limo, which let him ride around London in style while remaining inconspicuous.

One of his most well-known motors was his Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, given to him by his publishing managers.

It came with all the latest technology for the time and Mercury loved it so much kept it until he died in 1991.

After his tragic death, the Rolls-Royce was handed down to his sister, who donated it to the Freddie Mercury Museum in Tanzania.

The singer’s pride and joy was also featured in the opening of the We Will Rock You musical in the early 2000s.

Despite its fame, it was eventually sold for just £73,000 in 2013.

Mercury also owned an 80s Lincoln Town car for trips around New York City and he made the purchase early after his success boomed.

Another classic was the icon’s convertible Range Rover – later owned by bandmate Roger Taylor.

Although not the conventional way to cruise along in this make of car, Mercury definitely made it work.

But, it still wasn’t as unique as his Studebaker Champion.

A famous photograph of the Queen legend was taken with him posed up on the hood of the strange car.

But, not much else is known about why he bought it, or where it ended up.
