Injuries & suspensions update ahead of Gameweek 14: Latest on Ollie Watkins, Jarrod Bowen and more

DREAM TEAM brings you all the latest injury, suspension and availability news ahead of Gameweek 14 in one easily digestible dose.

For the second week in a row, David Moyes could only provide a vague update on Jarrod Bowen (£5.3m).

West Ham’s manager told reporters that he would need to consult with the club’s medical team before making a final decision on his top scorer ahead of the Hammers’ home game against Crystal Palace this Sunday.

Bowen wasn’t involved in either of his side’s Gameweek 13 fixtures.

Several other players missed the Irons’ Europa League clash with Backa Topola through illness – Moyes did not specify the individuals but Mohammed Kudus (£4.2m) and Edson Alvarez (£2.2m) were among those who did not travel.

20% of Dream Team gaffers are currently sweating on Ollie Watkins’ (£4.8m) availability.

The 27-year-old was a surprise omission from Aston Villa’s Europa Conference League squad on Thursday night and, when questioned if the in-form striker was rested or injured, Unai Emery initially replied “both”.

“He had yesterday small pain,” the Spanish tactician explained. “Not very strong, we decided as well to rest him.”

Watkins is expected to be involved at Bournemouth in some capacity but he has to be considered a doubt at this stage.

Jurgen Klopp expects to be without Alisson (£3.8m) for a fortnight at least after the Brazilian goalkeeper injured his hamstring in the dying moments against Manchester City.

Caoimhin Kellher (£1.8m) is likely to deputise against Fulham and Sheffield United this coming Gameweek.

Diogo Jota (£4.1m) is also injured and will probably return after Alisson, though the full extent of his issue remains unclear.

Eberechi Eze (£3.7m) may be forced to undergo more surgery following his foot injury last weekend.

Crystal Palace’s No10 is seeking specialist advice and will be sidelined for at least three weeks.

Unfortunately, Cheick Doucoure (£2.3m) will be unavailable for several months having “snapped his Achilles tendon” – the industrious midfielder may not return for Eagles until the last month of the season at best.

Mikel Arteta told journalists he didn’t expect any of his absentees to return this week but there are no new concerns after Arsenal’s comfortable win over Lens in the Champions League.

Elsewhere, Tottenham’s injury troubles have only worsened with Rodrigo Bentancur facing more time off after damage sustained against Aston Villa – the Uruguay international is looking at approximately two months on the sidelines.

Pape Matar Sarr (£2.1m) has not recovered in time for Spurs’ visit to the Etihad either.

As for the defending champions, Pep Guardiola revealed that John Stones (£4.4m) will once again make Sunday’s squad but it’s unknown to what extent he’ll feature on the pitch.

There’s an outside chance Christopher Nkunku (£4m) will be among Chelsea’s squad for the first time since his transfer to West London.

Mauricio Pochettino said the French forward is “close”, as is Romeo Lavia (£2.5m).

Both Reece James (£4.1m) and Marc Cucurella (£3.1m) are suspended for this weekend’s meeting with Brighton but will be available to face Manchester United in midweek.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£2.7m) is a doubt for Everton amid “tightness” that forced him to skip a training session.
