The American comedian and actor Will Ferrell sold his 1961 Volkswagen 23-window microbus for around £158,000.

He became famous in the mid-1990s as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live and later starred in movies such as Elf (2003), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), and Kicking & Screaming (2005).

The Southern California original 1961 Volkswagen 23-window bus has been upgraded with a 1,600cc engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and a 12-volt system.

Everything was restored and replaced to as-new condition with many New Old Stock (NOS) parts.

It features seating capacity for nine occupants, a factory sliding sunroof, a custom luggage/surf rack and jail bars on the rear windows.

The bus has been maintained since restoration and driven regularly by Ferrell.

The 1970 Triumph Spitfire MK III Convertible, owned by British television star Simon Cowell went under the hammer for around £70,000.

Simon Cowell has been a judge and producer for Pop Idol, American Idol, The X Factor, America’s Got Talent, Celebrity Duets, and Britain’s Got Talent.

Conceived as Triumph’s archrival to BMC’s compact Austin-Healey Sprite/MG Midget sports models, the Spitfire features sleek, open bodywork, fully independent suspension and a tuned 4-cylinder engine.

The model enjoyed fabulous success, with production spanning 1962 to 1980 along four distinct “Mark” evolutions.

The new Triumph was named after Britain’s heroic Spitfire fighter plane of WW II fame.

Rod Stewart’s 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Convertible fetched a spectacular price of around £309,000.

Sir Rod is among the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 250 million records worldwide.

His 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta is number 92 of just 448 Barchetta 550s made, finished in Argento Nürburgring (Silver) with Nero (Black) leather.

The Barchetta is powered by a 5.5-litre V12 engine with 485bhp and 420lb/ft of torque.

In 2022, a Ferrari dealer performed a complete check-over and service, which included new engine mounts, a new left-side valve cover gasket, a timing cover gasket and an air-conditioning expansion valve.
