I’m sorry for sexting other women, says married Amir Khan as he reveals drastic step he’s willing to take to stop

MARRIED former world champion boxer Amir Khan says he is willing to have therapy to stop him sexting other women.

And he has apologised to wife Faryal after she asked him, “If you have a diamond at home, why do you want to mess around with rocks and stones?”

Faryal tore strips off him after reading The Sun on Sunday’s story two weeks ago of how he begged a model for cheeky pictures and asked her to meet him.

Now Amir, 36 — whose marriage has been dogged by cheating storms — has revealed he would be willing to see a specialist, admitting he has “made mistakes” and “hurt” his wife.

Asked if he would attend therapy sessions if Faryal wanted him to, he said: “That question hasn’t been brought up before.

“But maybe I do need help to stop me from messaging other women.

“I am willing to go to therapy to stop me sending texts to women who aren’t my wife.

“I think nowadays with mental health issues, any help goes a long way. It’s definitely something I would do. Things like that do help, so maybe it’s something to think about.”

Faryal confronted him at their home in Dubai earlier this month when she saw our story about Amir begging bridal model Sumaira, 25, for racy pictures and trying to meet up with her.

He approached her online in May in the run-up to his and Faryal’s 10th wedding anniversary, initially complimenting her on her tattoos.

But his messages quickly turned saucy. In one, Amir told Sumaira: “U look good on g string” and suggested she had a boob job.

Sumaira sent him one snap in clothes showing off her rose-tattooed midriff, to which Amir replied: “Can’t stop looking.”

In another, he promised to delete any cheeky pictures.

He asked: “Think I wanna get caught out?”

Furious Faryal, 31, who shares three children with Amir, hit out at her man over the exchange.

Amir, who starred in I’m A Celebrity . . .  in 2017 and in the all-star version in South Africa in May, said: “She was disgusted. It’s not a nice thing to do.

“She was very angry because I shouldn’t be speaking to people like that.

“She said, ‘If you have a diamond at home, why do you want to mess around with rocks and stones?’

“It’s not nice what I’ve done. One day my kids will grow up and read this stuff, and it will upset them.

“I don’t think I was cheating, it was just a few texts. But I regret doing it.

“I can only apologise to Faryal. People have been messaging her about it, saying, ‘Did you see this article?’ — rubbing it in her face. It’s sad.”

Amir whisked model Faryal off for a romantic kid-free holiday to Mykonos last week, travelling there by private jet.

Speaking from the Greek island, he said: “The stupidest thing I did was to comment on this woman’s picture saying ‘nice’.

“I shouldn’t have done it. I have respect for my wife.

“I think I do these things out of boredom — I don’t think it’s that I can’t help myself.

“You get bored and start making mistakes.

“If I’m not careful, I will get myself into trouble — especially with the wife. She will end up saying, ‘I’ve had enough’.”

Amir, who won 34 of his 40 career fights, went on: “I’m used to focusing on boxing all the time but now that’s finished, maybe I need to start getting into something again.

“I want to get back into training and I have been asked to do a few exhibitions. There’s also a few TV shows I want to do.”

After our story, Amir said Sumaira begged him for £20,000, telling him she was going through a rough patch.

Amir was exposed after he sent a string of raunchy messages to Sumaira

Sumaira then accused him of lying in a TikTok video and threatened to reveal more of their messages.

Faryal lashed out at Sumaira online, saying: “Even when I was single I never gave a guy my number. Let alone a married one. Simple.”

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Sumaira claimed Amir told her in a phone call that he and Faryal “were not properly together” and “that it was a bit of a business arrangement”.

Bolton-born Amir, who now splits his time between the UK and Dubai, hit back, saying: “Women message you because they know they can get something from you.

“My missus is my queen and I don’t want to hurt her. Our marriage is great at the moment.”

Amir, who fought in four weight categories during his time as a professional, retired from boxing in May last year — three months after he lost to Sheffield fighter Kell Brook, 37, in a bout at Manchester’s AO Arena.

In April this year, he was banned from sport for two years, backdated a year, after performance-enhancing drug ostarine was found to have been in his system on the night of the fight.

A tribunal accepted Amir’s argument that the violation was not intentional.

Amir and Faryal starred in BBC series Meet the Khans: Big in Bolton, which finished its third season earlier this year.

The pair were introduced at a New York restaurant by mutual friends in 2011, and wed two years later in a £1million bash at the city’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

In another ceremony in the UK, ex-Man Utd footballers Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand were among the 4,000 guests.

In 2014, they welcomed their first child, daughter Lamaisah, now nine.

They also have daughter Alayna, five, and three-year-old son Muhammad.
