‘I’m really sad’: S Club 7 star hasn’t spoken to bandmates in five months after quitting reunion

S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt revealed she hasn’t spoken to her former bandmates in five months since quitting the reunion tour.

Speaking to The Sun, Spearritt, 42, shared she is “sad” to have lost touch with her bandmates following her exit from their reunion tour in May after bandmate Paul Cattermole’s death.

“I’ve not spoken to any of them since I left, which is fine,” she said.

“I’m really sad we aren’t in touch,” she added.

“They’ve gone their way and I’ve gone mine. I wish them all the best.”

In May this year, the band released a statement confirming the S Club 7 reunion tour would continue after their bandmate Paul Cattermole died in April from later confirmed “natural causes.

Cattermole died aged 46 just weeks after the band announced in February they were reuniting for the S Club 7 Reunited tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

However, while the band is scheduled to begin their European tour later this month, they confirmed Spearritt would not be joining them.

Spearritt and Cattermole were in a romantic relationship while in the band in the 2000s and briefly reunited back in 2015.

With the band still headed on tour, the 42-year-old told The Sun that she doesn’t know if she will ever reunite on stage with them.

“Will I ever perform with them again? I just don’t know,” Spearritt shared.

“I’m glad that the tour is still going ahead and the songs will live on, but now I’m looking forward, not backwards.”

S Club 7 will continue their tour as a five-star act with members Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara all returning.

On April 6, the band shared a joined statement to X, formerly known as Twitter, announcing Cattermole had suddenly died.

“We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul,” the statement read.

“There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel.

“We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

The band ended their statement by saying their former bandmate would be “deeply missed by each and every one of us.”
