AN expert mechanic has revealed an easy DIY method that can fix your flat car battery in seconds and save you hundreds on repair bills.
Jim The Car Guy posted a video to YouTube in which he demonstrated how to replace a battery in no time.

Jim, who has more than four decades of experience in the motor industry, filmed himself changing the battery on his wife’s car using just some basic tools.
All you need is a socket wrench with the right size of attachment to undo the nut holding the battery in place and disconnect the terminals.
Always disconnect the negative (black) terminal before the positive (red) and make sure the engine is not running to reduce the chance of electrocution or blowing up the battery.
Even seemingly dead batteries can still hold some power so it’s important to take precautions.
Jim also advised wearing old clothes that you don’t care about much as old batteries can sometimes leak battery acid, which will put holes in your clothes when they are washed.
Once both terminals are disconnected you can remove the plastic cover and lift the battery out of the bonnet, making sure the battery mounting does not move.
Then pop a new battery in the same spot and reconnect it at the positive terminal followed by the negative terminal.
Replacement batteries can be bought online for as little as £45.
Considering that getting a replacement done at a garage can cost anywhere between £100 and £400, doing it yourself can potentially save you hundreds.
However, if you are not a comfortable DIY mechanic, it is always best to get it done professionally to be safe.
