Luckily, a car enthusiast has shared the best money-saving method for cleaning your car at home.
Expert from Gtechniq Adam Eaton revealed the easy-to-follow steps for achieving professional results without damaging your car.
Before putting your hands on the vehicle, Adam recommends to do a “pre-wash” and remove any grime using a pressure washer or a snow foam lance.
He told Auto Express: “The whole point is that before we put our hands on the car, we clear as much dirt and grime to ensure that nothing gets dragged along the paint.
“You’ll need two buckets. One with a washing solution and the other filled with plain water for rinsing. And be sure to place a grit guard in each bucket to catch the grime.”
He urged car owners to avoid silicone-based sprays inside their vehicle as it can make your pedals dangerously slippery.
Instead, he advises to use a wash mitt as it is the most “friendly” product to your car’s paint.
To drive a spotless car you can take your washing to the next level by cleaning the car engine – using a blow dryer or a microfibre cloth.
According to experts, this will ensure a well maintained engine and mechanics will take better care of it during servicing.
However, Adam urged drivers to never blast water over the area because it will destroy the electrical systems resulting in hefty repairs.
“Instead, clean and then dress black hose cables with a silicon-based spray and regrease moving parts such as bearings,” he explained.
For wheels and wheel arches, drivers should use a jet wash and warm water with soap working on one area at a time.
Eaton said: “This way the chemicals don’t stay on the surface for too long.”
Once the dirt is off, you can get your car looking almost brand new with a few wipes on your windscreen using a glass cleaner or a cloth.
Use foam-filled applicators and a bottle of tyre dressing for the tyres, and you can even dress each tyre to give them “a showroom-fresh look”.
Adam said driving your car to dry it off can be a huge mistake as it can make your brakes sticky and flood your seals and gaps.
While your vehicle might look ready to drive, perfectionists can get rid of the invisible grime by running a clay bar to remove carbon deposits.
Lastly, the cleaning professional recommends to avoid washing their vehicles under the burning heat as it can affect the products you’ll be using.
It comes as another car expert has revealed a £2 hack to keep your car interior pristine.
The TikTokker used a 10-second video to demonstrate the trick using a surprise item cheaply available online.
The social media user @shihekai impressed by showing how the inside of your motor can be kept immaculate with just a small brush.
Meanwhile, drivers were warned over a 99p TikTok car cleaning “hack” which could cause thousands of pounds of damage.
The video sharing site offers entertainment and little-known tips for many users, with motorists often taking advantage.
However, some viral trends can cause more harm than help.
