I’m an EV expert – there are SO many things I hate about Teslas… they’re noisy and the suspension is rubbish

AN EV expert has revealed the things he hates about Teslas, claiming they are too noisy and the suspension is rubbish.

Kris Rifa took to YouTube to list his pet hates with the Elon Musk-owned brand and “reveal the truth” about their cars’ quality.

While he said that he did not hate Tesla as a whole, he did have some specific dislikes that he felt other manufacturers dealt with better.

Kris said: “The first thing I don’t like about Tesla are the fanboys.

“If you don’t praise Tesla for everything… you’re going to be labelled as a hater.”

His experience largely came from the online discourse around Teslas, especially on web forums, which he found annoying as a content creator trying to produce objective reviews.

Kris also took issue with the ride quality and sound insulation in the Model 3 and Model Y.

To demonstrate, he cut to footage of a previous review, which saw the interior of the car visibly shaking as he drove along a seemingly flat residential road.

He found the suspension to be more sophisticated in other cars he had tested and felt like the Tesla’s was too soft and so it felt like it “never settled”.

Kris also felt that there weren’t enough physical buttons and switches on the dash, with basically every function run through the touchscreen infotainment system.

This included everything from adjusting the volume on the stereo to managing the climate control.

Ultimately, he felt like this left the system a little cluttered, while the rest of the dash was largely bare.

However, he did admit that this issue was common to a number of manufacturers and that Tesla had “one of the best” infotainment systems on the market.

Other pet peeves included a lack of customisable options on newer models and the relatively similar design year-on-year making them “boring and stale”.

Finally, Kris’ biggest issue was with the autopilot feature which he termed a “deal-breaker”.

He found that the system led to “phantom braking” when the car brakes without any obvious hazard present and also refused to change lanes while active.

This was also accompanied by an irritating tone that can’t be turned off and which Kris found very distracting.

Social media commenters were quick to back him up.

One wrote: “I only had my Model Y for 6 weeks and I totally agree with you.

“I find the interior very bare, almost too bare for my liking.”

Another added: “I agree with about every point.

“I test drove a Model 3 a few times but I could just not stand all the lacking aspects.

“It’s really good on the electric side but not so much on the car side.”

It comes after an expert mechanic revealed how to fix a flat tyre and save hundreds on repair bills.

Meanwhile, a motors whizz helped drivers realise that they could have a hidden fridge in their car.
