DO you get bored of having to share a convoluted Wi-Fi password with all your friends whenever they come over?
Well you’re not alone. Launching to-and-fro between uppercase, lowercase letters, an array of numbers and handful of failed attempts can be a right mare when getting friends connected.

Fortunately, one Wi-Fi expert on YouTube has found a way to make sharing your network with your loved ones a lot easier.
Matty McTech, also known as @SetupSpawn, has suggested using a website called qifi.org to set up your very own QR code that people can use to immediately link up with the Wi-Fi.
“If you go to this website and enter in your Wi-Fi information and hit Generate, it’ll generate you a QR code that you can print,” he explained in a YouTube short.
“Now, you can take that piece of paper and pin it anywhere in your house.
“And then when your friends come over, they’ll be able to use their phone to scan the QR code and instantly join the Wi-Fi.”
However, some onlookers have questioned the site’s security.
One video watcher commented, jokingly: “Another pro tip, if you spray paint your full name, billing address and social security number on a public wall, you can help your ‘friends’ apply for credit cards.”
If you’re concerned about putting your network details in – for fear of that information being exposed – there are other alternatives.
Although it’s important to note that nobody would be able to access your network unless they’re within close proximity.
The Sun’s tech section has also detailed a number of ways people can find out if their network is being used by freeloaders and how to boot them off.
What are the alternatives?
Most Wi-Fi routers come with a card or a sticker kitted with the network name and password that can be stuck on the fridge or elsewhere in the house for easy access for friends and family.
Meanwhile, iPhones have a nifty ‘Share Password’ trick that allows fellow iOS users to immediately share the password of the network they’re connected to, as that password is saved on their device.
When a pal is trying to connect to the same network with their iPhone, a pop-up will appear on the homeowners Apple device giving them the option to share their password without wrestling with the digits themselves.
For Android users, in the Wi-Fi section in the phone’s settings, there’s a share button that generates a QR code that saves users from going to a separate website and manually typing it all out.
