Sandra Molyneux, Canary Islands Area Manager at Villa Plus explained the strict rules.

She told Sun Online Travel “Anything goes on the sun-drenched beaches but remember your hat.

“When you head away from the sand be respectful, no bare chests or bikinis in the town centre or supermarket.

“T-shirts must be worn in taxis or you will be refused a ride.”

Tiktoker Frank, who organises stag does in Benidorm, backed this up.

He said on his TikTok page: “When leaving the beach and hitting the streets please cover up.

“Men must put their shirts on, ladies cover up your bikinis or you could be fined €300 (£256).

“I know you’re getting off the beach, you’re in your beach wear, you can be fined up to €300.”

In Barcelona, bikinis must only be worn on the beach, otherwise you must cover up when heading into town.

The rules are the same in Majorca, with stricter fines of up to £500.

Another Spanish expert recently revealed why you should never order a pint of beer on holiday.

She told Sun Online Travel: “Never order a pint of beer. It will go warm.”

Instead, she said tourists should ask for a “cañas” which is a small beer, so you can drink it before it goes warm.

Brit Lee, who goes to Spain every month, said he never orders a pint and instead opts for the smaller option.

He previously told Sun Travel: “This will cost little more than €1 and ensure your beer is always extra cold.

“Ask for a ‘doble’ if you’re a fast drinker!”
