I’m a petrolhead, here’s 7 cringe car mods to avoid

A PETROLHEAD has revealed seven car modifications you must avoid or risk looking like a bit of a dimwit out on the road.

TikToker @fish56octagon uploaded the video to show just how bad some car mods look, and why you should avoid them at all costs.

The footage opens with the poster going straight into his list, with windscreen strip names the first dodgy add-on to steer clear of.

Then @fish56octagon highlights tacky real sheepskin seat covers as a no-no, followed by car bonnet bras – which is a type of vinyl cover that protects the front of the car.

The bra may be practical enough, but it’ll make your car look fit for the junkyard.

Also shown is a car with fake eyelashes over the headlights, when any car fan knows the only motor that can get away with that look is the legendary Lamborghini Miura.

Fluffy steering wheel covers are next up, then static strips hanging off the rear underside of the car.

These strips are supposed to help with motion sickness, but it’s far from a proven science so we’d definitely avoid them.

Lastly, we have animal print seat covers and incorrect badging – which is certainly one of the most heinous mods you can possibly think of.

A standard 10-year-old, 2.0-litre petrol BMW does not need to have an ‘M’ badge on the boot, likewise you won’t convince the public your tatty 2004 Merc is actually a 5.0-litre V8 AMG model – especially when you pull up at the diesel pump at the local Shell garage.

So, it’s a job well done by @fish56octagon – just make sure you follow his advice and don’t mess with the mods.
