AN experienced mechanic has revealed a simple car hack that will guarantee your motor will last for longer.

He advised motorists should check their car battery every month.
Taking to his TikTok page, where he is known as “Scottykilmerofficial”, he explained why.
In a short clip, he explained that there were a “huge amount” of cars where “everything is run by computers”.
He added: “They’re based on electrical voltage.
“Now a dead battery won’t even start your car, so you’re stranded.”
But he warned that things were worse than just that.
He said that a “shortaged-out battery” could actually cause damage to your car.
Kilmer added that cars are full of microprocessors that need clean electricity to work properly.
If you have a poor battery you can get voltage surges in it that can destroy those microprocessors, according to the expert.
A simple battery check takes less than a minute and testers can be bought online for less than £20.
