The red-haired female lorry driver was crowned the Trucker of the Year award in 2015.

The single mother-of-three conquered the feat beating a tough competition from more than 100 entries.

She became one of the 12 finalists – and won the title through public voting.

She told Express: “I am so excited, I can’t believe I have been nominated by so many.

“I have found the nominations very moving; after all I am just being me.”

The award was aimed to put spotlight on real heroes of the trucking world – and was sponsored by Trucking Magazine and insurance broker Staveley Head.

Ashley Peters, managing director at Staveley Head, said: “We received some fantastic nominations.

“It was a delight to understand and get to know the people behind the trucks.

“It has been a great pleasure to support the industry and we hope to do this again in 2016.”

Ms Rouse set a target, through her glam photoshoots, of raising £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.

After winning the title, she swapped back to her job as a lorry driver and was featured in one of the issues of Trucking Magazine.

Meanwhile, a woman who previously served in the army switched her career to become a successful lorry driver, proving her critics wrong.

Nicolle, who goes by the name of Trucker Baddie on the internet, often received tons of misogynistic comment about her male-dominated profession.

After serving the army for seven years, Nicolle started a haulage company called TruckClass Haulage along with with her trucker boyfriend Ben.

The pair funded their stint using the money Nicolle earned online. She has a swathe of online fans who pay for her racy pictures.

She and her boyfriend now run the business together and the couple take turns bringing their recently purchased truck out on jobs.

And a former Miss England finalist quit modelling to pursue her dream job of driving 44-tonne lorries across the country.

Milly Everatt, 23, won the runner-up trophy for the coveted title in 2022.

In 2022, the model ditched her glamorous career and obtained both Class 1 and Class 2 HGV licences so she could fulfil her dream of becoming a lorry driver.
