Osimhen, 25, bagged 26 goals last season helping Napoli win their first Serie A title in 33 years.
He has been linked with moves to the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Nigerian did sign a new contract in Naples running until 2026 in December, however clubs remain interested.
This season he has continued his sensational form with seven goals and two assists in just 13 league games.
This comes despite Napoli’s struggles to replicate their form from the previous campaign.
Adebayor was one of the best strikers in the Premier League during his playing days.
He has now backed Osimhen to star in England and believes he can replicate Didier Drogba’s impact at Chelsea should he move.
The former Arsenal striker told BBC Sport Africa: “He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel there [in England].

“I’m praying for him to move to the Premier League and show what he’s capable of.
“The Premier League is the toughest and best [league] in the world.
“Osimhen has shown and done it already in Italy, I think it is the right time for him to move to England and replace his idol Drogba and do beautiful things.
“He has all it takes to make a name and write a great chapter in England like Drogba.”
Drogba is a legend at Stamford Bridge having scored 164 goals in 381 appearances across his two spells with the club.
Chelsea signed striker Nicolas Jackson, 22, in the summer but he has struggled for consistency with eight goals in 23 appearances in all competitions.
Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he is happy with his options but the club has still been linked with Osimhen and Brentford’s returning star Ivan Toney.
