But flight attendant and travel blogger Kara Mulder explained her nifty trick to getting some beauty sleep.
So, what’s the secret?
Avoid eating on planes – if it doesn’t align with a normal mealtime in your destination.
Kara’s top tip is to set your watch to the time zone you’re going to be landing in as soon as you board the plane, Marie Claire reported.
From then on you just eat and sleep at what would be the appropriate times for your destination.
She revealed the hack in her blog The Flight Attendant Life in 2018.
Kara advised: “Do not go to sleep at 1pm. Wait to fall asleep at a regular time. Your body will quickly readjust.”
She also added: “If the snack and meal service is not served on your eating schedule, go ahead and pass on the food.”
Instead, it’s best to “pack your own healthy granola bars, trail mix, dried fruit etc.”
It’s not a surprise that not everyone will love the trick – going without snacks and meals on a plane won’t be fun.
But it could help you avoid jet lag and adjust to the time zone in your destination country.
Kara’s not the first flight expert to give insider tips on flying with style.
