Posting to his YouTube channel, the Batley Bulldogs squad member said three very common things a lot of fitness fanatics do aren’t actually useful.

He urged people to stay away from the exercises as they could end in injury and not produce any gains.

The first one he frowns upon is round the worlds – where you hold a weight up above your head.

He said: “Round the world – if you see someone in the gym doing these, go over and tell them to stop and tell them they’re wasting their time.

“If you want big shoulders all you need to do is keep it super simple.

“Do lateral raises with a well executed dumbbell or cable ones.

“And some front razors are going to round your shoulders off nicely.”

The second one Keegan said would not benefit you is sit-ups.

He said: “Sit-ups are going to knacker your back up.

“They’re not going to do anything for your abs and you look like a sloth trying to get up.

“When thinking core exercise, think anti-flexion, anti-extension and anti-rotation.

“You want to use your core muscles to stop you bending one way or another.

“And if you are going to do spinal flexion then you want to raise your legs up.”

The third exercise was using a dumbbell and moving it away from your body.

He said: “For the love of God please stop doing this.

“Everyone thinks they’re warming up their shoulders up and all they’re doing is f***ing up the joint.

“Our movement wants to oppose the force but gravity is pulling down not sideways.

“So you can either use a cable tie with the same movement or you can turn it into a cube and press like this.”

His videos with instructions on how to do the advised exercises can be found here.

It comes after one fitness expert said there were 11 exercises which proved no-good.
