Dr. Maren Locke has gained hundreds of thousands of followers on YouTube for her bargain skincare tips, and the latest one has wowed her fans.
She said: “Vaseline is a brand that is most well known for making a 100% pure petroleum jelly product.
“It’s the simplest skincare product out there!”
Dr. Maren explained that whether you have oily, sensitive, acne prone, or eczema prone skin or rosacea, all skin types can benefit from the wonder product.
She said: “It’s a misconception that acne prone and oily skin should not use Vaseline.”
Dr. Maren’s top five ways to use the product will have all skin types glowing in no time.
Use it on your lips
Dr. Maren said: “Replace your Chapstick. Petroleum jelly can do wonders to heal dry cracked lips, or prevent them.”
Use it as an eye cream
While the product isn’t inherently anti-aging, Vaseline can help seal in hydration and water to give you a well-rested look.
She continued: “If you suffer from that crepey under eye texture, try Vaseline to plump up your skin!”
Use it to remove your makeup
The oily properties of the jelly make it perfect for breaking down even waterproof makeup – while staying gentle on your skin.
Dr. Maren gushed: “This serves the same purpose as an oil based cleanser. It will gently melt away that eye and face makeup without the other commonly irritating ingredients.”
Use it to repair your skin barrier
Similar to the technique of slugging, Dr. Maren said this technique works because Vaseline is a product which prevents trans epidermal water loss.
Meaning: “Vaseline is far more effective than any other oil or serum out there.”
Use it for minor cuts, scrapes and burns
She explained: “Vaseline is just as effective at healing the skin as a triple antibiotic ointment like Neosporin.”
So next time you have a minor cut or scrape, rub some Vaseline on it and it’ll heal in no time.
