A DERMATOLOGIST has revealed the five best products you can buy at Boots if you’re trying to banish acne.
Doctor Soma took to TikTok to offer her followers the top acne fighters that can be picked up at the local beauty retailer.

In the 24-second-video the London based dermatologist begins by showing viewers the popular smoothing cleanser by brand CeraVe.
The product is a salicylic acid cleanser for dry, rough and bumpy skin and claims to “gently cleanse while exfoliating without disrupting the protective skin barrier”.
The cleanser is fragrance-free and consists of three essential ceramides, salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid.
Next up in the handy clip is the La Roche Posay Effaclar purifying foaming gel.
The product is for oily, sensitive skin and claims to gently remove dirt and grime, reduce the appearance of spots and blackheads, control shine and leave the skin feeling clean and fresh.
Dr Soma then shows her followers another product form the La Roche Posay Effaclar range.
The Duo+ Corrective Unclogging Care can be used for imperfections on the skin and is “anti-mark and anti-recurrence”.
The item’s packaging states that the product can be used on “severe imperfections and marks” and is for oily, acne prone skin.
The treatment is also made with “La Roche Posay thermal spring water” and claims users can see clearer skin in just four weeks of use.
Product number four in the clip in the Acnecide Benzoyl Peroxide range.
With 5 per cent Benzoyl Peroxide in the treatment, the product is specifically targeted for mild acne of the face.
According to the Boots website, the active ingredient kills the bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes – one of the main causes of acne.
The product is only suitable if you are over the age of 12 and the acne on your face is not severe or cystic.
The website states: “Mild acne appears as predominately blackheads and whiteheads and there are few or no spots and pimples and no inflamed spots”.
Dr Soma reveals to her followers that Zitsticka pimple patches are also one of the best acne fighters available in Boots as the Microdart patches are especially for those pesky new-found zits.
The patches are self-dissolving and have spikes on the sticky side that dissolve to flood your early-stage pimple with targeted ingredients, clearing the gunk before it turns into a real spot.
Lastly, the London dermatologist recommends The Inkey List’s succinic acid blemish treatment with salicylic acid.
According to the brand, the product clears blemishes fast and reduces inflammation in the skin.
The treatment dries clear and allegedly layers under makeup with ease.
With 1 per cent salicylic acid, the blemish bashing product exfoliated dead skin cell build-up and shrinks large pores.
The 2 per cent succinic acid reduces blemish size and unblocks pores in the acne prone skin.
Dr Soma’s post racked up over a mega 87,200 views and 2500 likes with her followers leaving their thoughts on the helpful video.
One woman mentioned her friend and wrote: “If we go to the town we have to go into boots to see if they have good skin care stuff x”.
Another asked the dermatologist: “I have combo skin but my cheeks Is so dry and have sensetive is good for me?,” to which Soma replied: “Cleanser every day is a good idea”.
A third wrote: “Can you do this for combo/dry sensitive skin?”.
One more added: “Which one is the best?,” and Soma responded: “Every one will be different- but store bought only go so far, doctors can help with stronger treatment”.
