I’m a busy mum who doesn’t have time to spend hours defrosting car – so I use TikTok’s 5p trick & it works INSTANTLY

A BUSY mum has revealed how she uses TikTok’s dirt cheap hack to avoid having to spend hours waiting for her car to defrost.

As temperatures plummet and schools shut due to a -14C freeze this hack has come at just the right time.

The mum – who goes by @emmajameswellness on Tiktok – took to the platform to try the method.

In the video a woman appears holding a 5p carrier bag filled with luke-warm water.

She then rubs it on the outside of a frozen vehicle and makes a shocked expression at the camera as the ice melts away.

Text across the clip says: “To completely remove all layer of ice fill a carrier bag with luke warm tap water.

“No re-freeze, no cracked glass, ready for the school run.”

Others who have tried the trick have also not been left disappointed.

Another woman who shared a video of herself using it racked up more than 280,000 views and more than 100 comments.

One person approved of the hack ensuring it wouldn’t break the windscreen saying: “It will not crack it. Hasn’t cracked mine in 30 years between Denver and Tahoe. Never cracked it once.”

However another had no such luck and wrote: “I tried this and the bag burst and the water ran all down my arms i was wet through- i now just throw luke warm water out of a jug over works great.”

A third TikToker who tried the method raved about it and dubbed it the “biggest life hack ever.”

This isn’t the only time a savvy mum has shared a useful trick recently.

Jessica Bank, from Fife, is a self-confessed “cold tattie” and says she struggles to stay warm.

But her bargain TikTok Shop find – a hot water belt – is now her “favourite thing” as it keeps the cold at bay.

Showing it off in a short TikTok video (@jessicabanktattoo), she said: “Does your man keep turning the heating down on car drives?
