A BUS driver has revealed the real reason they refuse to open their doors in Glasgow city centre once they’re shut.
It’s not uncommon to see a prospective passenger hurling insults at drivers when they are unable to board despite being right outside.

However a TikTok user named Stephen, posting under the account name fatbusdriver87, has lifted the lid on why they have no choice but to leave people raging.
He said: “Quite a lot of people don’t know this. In the town we are under TRC conditions which means they’re enforced by Glasgow City Council, SPT and our own inspectors.
“As soon as we’ve serviced a stop and the doors close we cannot open them again.
“The company faces a fine and and can have their bus license for that vehicle taken off which means it costs them money.
“And we can get into serious s**t for it into the bargain.
“So it’s nothing to do with the drivers.
“If it’s in the town that’s what it is, if it’s outside the town I can’t say.”
The social media star, with nearly 4,000 followers, was responding to a question from a follower who wanted to know why Glasgow drivers wouldn’t let people on the bus when they were right outside and could be clearly seen.

The driver and passengers were forced to get off the vehicle.
Drivers waiting in traffic behind the bus were also urged to leave their cars.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed no one was injured in the blaze.
