A MAN said he has been forced to live in his VW Passat to survive despite working seven days a week.
Nick Andrew ditched his rented house to live in his car to cut down on costs and save up – but he said he still has bills to pay.

The former teacher decided to quit the classroom to pursue his long-time dream of becoming a professional musician.
Despite working as a guitarist on various gigs, he couldn’t make ends meet.
He then took the life-changing decision of moving into his VW Passat.
Nick told The Guardian: “I planned it as a brief cost-cutting experiment.
“I realised that I had to change my life, and the cheapest option was being permanently on the road.”
But the life inside the Passat doesn’t come easy.
With just a roof and doors as walls, the rock guitarist doesn’t have a toilet, bedroom or a kitchen.
Inside the vehicle he calls home, he plugs a kettle into the cigarette lighter and uses the back-seat as a “bedroom”.
Nick only has a bean bag behind the driver’s seat, pillows to level out the back bench, bungee ropes, gardening wire, torches and some fetching bed linen.
He said: “As for hygiene, I use gyms, friends’ houses or shower in the music studios where I work.
“If I’m desperate, I can wash my pants, socks or jeans in my shower.
“This works only in the height of summer, because they have to dry in the car.”
If he needs to use the toilet, he rushes to the nearest public area – as there is no running water, electricity or refrigeration.
During the summer he risks roasting under the early-morning sun and in the winter he freezes on -17C nights under his bedclothes.
Despite sacrificing comfort for money, Nick claimed he still has to pay bills.
“It is not paradise: I still work seven days a week, and there are still bills to pay,” he slammed.
However, he said there are positive things about living on the move.
The musician described his nomadic lifestyle a “heaven from the outside world” and said he can practise guitar late without nightmare neighbours disturbing him.
He added: “I see no reason to end my lifestyle unless I’m going to go home to someone.”
Nick encouraged others to follow his path and leave the “nine-to-five machine” if they want to save up a fortune.
He said: “In my case, as fewer and fewer people see the need to pay for music, I struggle to earn enough to eat, let alone save for anything.”
