A MAN has admitted he won’t be buying his family Christmas presents this year amid the cost of living crisis.
Nigel Anderson, from Grimsby, said he can’t afford to pay the bills and celebrate the festive season as inflation hits a 41-year high.

Struggling to make ends meet, Nigel and his wife have been forced to cancel Christmas in their household.
The couple aren’t currently working and are living off benefits – but say this year has been the biggest struggle for them.
Due to his wife’s disabilities, Nigel is her full-time carer and unable to get another job.
He told GrimsbyLive: “We’ve already got the turkey and all the food, but we just can’t afford to buy Christmas presents.
“Last year we did, but this year it won’t be happening.”
Despite managing Christmas before, the pair are having to make the tough decision to “cut back”.
At a time where the country is struggling to heat their homes, many are being forced to ditch the traditions.
Another resident said they have had to “tighten their belts” and aren’t in the Christmas spirit at all.
Dawn Turner said: “We did say at the beginning that we wouldn’t bother with Christmas, that we’d just have a dinner, but I bought a few bits.”
It comes after the government handed out £60 worth of free supermarket vouchers to help families eat over the winter.
Councils have been given a slice of the new funding on offer, which will be given out to struggling households to help them with the rising cost of bills and food.
They are redeemable at supermarkets this Christmas or can be used towards energy costs.
