A FORMER Royal Marine has won the entire £400,000 People’s Postcode Lottery prize for his area thanks to his late wife.
Alan Mizon, 77, scooped the largest share of the total £3.2million jackpot, calling it a “miracle”.

Alan, from Chelmsford, Essex, raked in £396,694 after his postcode was announced as the full winning code for the monthly Millions prize, with him being the only ticketholder.
And he had a little help from beyond the grave, as his wife Diana set up the winning ticket before tragically passing away from cancer in July 2020, aged 73.
Blind dad-of-one Alan said: “Flipping heck – it’s a miracle. Di would be absolutely out of this world.
“She got my Postcode Lottery ticket all sorted out for me – she was the smart one. She’s looking out for me.”
However, he admitted that the win was bittersweet without his wife of 53 years by his side.
He added: “I’ve not been on holiday since Di passed away.
“I’d really like to go back to some of the places that we used to visit – Guernsey, Jersey and the Midlands – which hold so many great memories.”
Kind-hearted Alan, who grew up playing football with England legend Jimmy Greaves, also plans to give away a portion of the prize to support charities close to his heart.
He explained: “I’m on the waiting list for a guide dog, which would really help me as I don’t see or walk very well, and they’d be a great companion.
“I’d like to give something to Guide Dogs – to help others like me.”
That said, he will treat himself a little, as he said: “First, I think I’ll treat myself to a nice whisky to celebrate and just take it all in.”
Over 540 people in the wider Chelmsford area won at least £4,477 each, but Alan came away with by far the largest pot.
Alan’s pal Fiona Banks added: “I’m still in shock for him.
“He doesn’t see many people and he’s been through a lot – he’s such a lovely man and genuinely deserves this.”
It comes after one woman scooped a massive £200,000 on the Postcode Lottery and revealed why she waited two days to claim her prize.
Meanwhile, two cousins won the entire £1 million jackpot thanks to a planning quirk when the council gave them their postcode.
