‘I was waiting for that’ – Carragher leaves Odegaard in hysterics as he reignites celebration row live on Sky Sports

JAMIE CARRAGHER poked fun at Martin Odegaard after the Arsenal captain starred in the win over Sheffield United.

The Gunners ran rampant against the Blades, beating the Premier League’s bottom side 6-0 to stretch their winning run to seven games.

Carragher criticised the Arsenal captain for taking photos after the Liverpool win

Odegaard opened the scoring as Arsenal netted their 10,000th goal courtesy of Ben White.

The result gives Mikel Arteta’s side the chance to go top of the Prem with a win over Brentford on Saturday, but the celebrations were a little more subdued compared to the win over Liverpool last month.

After that victory Carragher criticised Arsenal for over celebrating and singled out Odegaard after he pinched the photographer’s camera to take a snap of him.

Carragher, appearing on Monday Night Football, could not resist an opportunity to have a bit of fun with the Norwegian, and managed to get a laugh out of him.

He said: “Martin it was a fantastic performance by yourself, great win for the team – I just didn’t see the photographer on the pitch.

“Is he in the dressing room are you going to get together?”

Odegaard laughed off Carragher’s ridiculing and hit back saying: “I was waiting for that. I was waiting for you to say something.

“I was too scared to do it today so I went straight inside today.”

Odegaard also responded to Carragher at the time of his criticism, asking: When can we celebrate?

He said: “Everyone who loves football, who understands football, they know how much it means to win this game.

“And if you’re not allowed to celebrate when you win a game, when are you allowed to celebrate? We’re happy with the win and we’ll stay humble.

“We keep working hard and we prepare for the next one but of course you have to be happy when you win.”
