A DRIVER has been left furious after allegedly being given a £60 fine in a cinema car park because the film they were watching was too long.
The customer accused the parking company responsible of installing “unclear” signs at the Cineworld in Llandudno, Wales.

The dispute came to light thanks to an initial complaint posted by Cineworld customer Debbie Williams on X.
Debbie claimed to have been given a £100 parking fine at her local Cineworld in Llandudno thanks to new parking charges at the site.
Fortunately, she was apparently able to appeal the penalty down to £20 but she still took to social media to share her frustrations.
A comment from Cineworld under Debbie’s post read explained that the franchise does not “own or operate” any of the car parks outside its branches.
Instead, it encouraged Debbie to appeal directly to the parking provider, UK Parking Control.
However, a second cinemagoer was less than impressed and chimed in with their own story.
Commenting on Debbie’s post, they claimed that they had been slapped with a £60 charge from UKPC after watching blockbuster smash Dune Part Two at the same site.
Unfortunately, the sci-fi flick has a running time of two hours and 47 minutes which, combined with trailers, takes its cinema length just over three hours.
The motorist slammed UKPC for allegedly “unclear” signs and said they won’t be returning to Cineworld.
The cinema replied directing the former customer to their previous response, but the disgruntled driver was not satisfied.
They added: “I just thought you’d want to know why you are losing customers.
“My mistake.”
In a separate post on its Facebook page, Cineworld has seemingly recognised this as an issue.
The post urges customers not to worry as they will be able to extend their stay free of charge by entering their registration details on a tablet inside the cinema building.
It adds: “We know that many of you love to come for a meal before your film or like to watch as many as you can in one day and the 3 hours just would not be enough.”
A spokesperson for Cineworld said: “Customers at Cineworld Llandudno wishing to use the Junction Leisure Park car park for longer than 3 hours can do so by validating their parking.
“Visitors should enter their registration details and proof of ticket purchase into one of the tablets located inside the cinema.
“Full information on parking restrictions can be found on the signs located across the cinema and within the car park.
“Customers with issues validating their parking while visiting us can speak to our staff for further assistance.”
UKPC has been contacted for comment.
It comes after one woman claimed she was hit with a £170 fine for stopping for just 33 seconds after finding the airport car park she booked was closed.
