I tried weight loss jabs and felt like I had morning sickness for months, but they’ve changed my life

A QUICK weight loss fix is a dream for many and now weight loss injections are set to become increasingly mainstream.

Wegovy, hailed by Twitter boss Elon Musk and allegedly Kim Kardashian for helping them slim down due to its appetite suppressing properties, is set to become available on the NHS.

Taking Ozempic and reducing her calorie intake to 1,200 a day ha seen her drop to 12st 5lbs

And despite the side effects (people can commonly suffer gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea) one woman swears by semaglutide – the drug found in jabs Wegovy and Ozempic.

Leanne Smith, 41, owner of Trendy Tots Baby Boutique (trendytotsbabyboutique.com), from South Wales, took Ozempic and was blown away by the results.

She says: ‘I’ve tried every possible diet over the years.

“As quick as I would lose, I would gain it back.

“A friend recommended the weight loss jabs to me so I signed up at an online chemist.

“At my biggest just before lock down I was 19 stone 11.

“I felt so disgusted, it affected my mobility and mental health

“I know people say move more, but I have spinal problems, and the more weight I gained the worse things were.

“The nurse at my GP practice was against me going on them, but my children Courtney, 20, Mason, 17 and Olivia, 6 were really supportive.

“The side effects weren’t particularly great.

“It felt like I had morning sickness for around three months.

“I’d occasionally get bad headaches, constipation and diarrhoea, but after three months the side effects passed.

“The results were pretty much instant too, the first week I lost half a stone, the same happened the second week.

“As well as using the Ozempic injection, I stuck to a calorie controlled diet of around 1,200 calories a day, and started to increase my step count and I swam too.

“My weight is currently 12 stone 5lbs, I have around two more stone to lose.

“I’m feeling comfortable as I am – I’ve been steady at this weight for over a year now.

“Since stopping the injections in January last year, I’ve maintained my weight.

“If I’d known about them sooner, I would have tried them years ago.

“It’s a shame there isn’t more information available from GPs or the NHS.

“I appreciate not everyone can afford them, but they’ve changed my life.”
