I tried to nicely end war with neighbour blocking my drive but he accused me of BRIBERY-so I made his parking a misery

A MAN at war with his neighbour over parking has revealed how he was allegedly accused of bribery after he tried to call it quits.

Steve Hofstetter said a truck was “constantly” blocking his driveway and when being “nice” didn’t solve the problem he took matters into his own hands.

The Pennsylvania resident believes the car was deliberately being parked there as the neighbour “didn’t want him in the community.”

After dealing with the parking for two years Steve decided to buy his neighbour coffee and let bygones be bygones – but this only made matters worse.

Steve took to TikTok to explain the situation saying: “I tried to be nice and even tried to buy him a Starbucks gift card like ‘hey let me get your coffee and lets talk about this’.”

But his gesture was met with an unexpected response.

“He went around to all my neighbours telling them that I was trying to buy him off,” he said.

“It’s so pervasive that if you go to Google maps and look he is blocking my driveway on Google Maps,” he added.

It was at this point Steve decided he “had enough” and threatened to get his neighbour’s vehicle towed away which “worked for a while.”

But before long he was at it again and this time Steve would show no mercy and would give the man a taste of his own medicine.

“I started pulling out of the driveway but then I stopped when I saw him get out of his house,” he said.

“I waited for him to start his engine and then I pulled back in front of him and did the same 20 point turn he makes me do every morning.

“If he’s gonna add two minutes to my day I’ll do the same to him too.”

Steve finished his video by asking viewers “too petty or not petty enough?

“Oh and one more thing, I found out that he has a garage behind his house.”

The video has caused a stir online with many flocking to support Steve.

“Dude, I would have called the tow truck day 1,” wrote one.

“I had my neighbours suv towed 70 miles away because he repeatedly parked infront of my garage.

“I was late for work, and he never ever did it again,” added another.

A third said: “You’re being way to kind.”

Experts have recently told The Mirror what to do if your neighbour keeps parking on your driveway.

They said at first you should try approaching your neighbour in a calm and friendly way.

If it isn’t possible in person writing a letter could be a good option.

But, failing this, you could pursue a legal claim for nuisance behaviour on the grounds that the driver is interfering with your property.

There is no criminal law against trespassing, as it is a civil issue, so there is no point contacting the police.
