To his shock, within a day the bot created a company valued at an eye-watering £21,000.
In a Twitter thread, the brand designer said: “I gave GPT-4 a budget of $100 and told it to make as much money as possible.
“I’m acting as its human liaison, buying anything it says to.”
Jackson instructed the bot on Wednesday to turn the cash into “as much money as possible in the shortest time possible without doing anything illegal”.
The AI created Green Gadget Guru, an affiliate marketing site making content around eco-friendly and sustainable living.
It also gave Jackson a business plan, suggesting the idea to buy a website with a catchy name and promote it on social media, and created a logo.
Jackson tweeted: “For the website, I told GPT to be as verbose as possible making decisions for everything from content to layout.
“Some interesting decisions it’s made: -The logo should be positioned in the top left corner, a category section should be a 5 column grid of cards, full width BG.”
The bot then created the site’s first piece of content after the website went live and suggested using $40 (32.85) to put up adverts on Facebook and Instagram.
Jackson shared had made a profit of £52 and an investor had put in £82.
After a day, Jackson revealed the company had been valued at a staggering $25,000 (£20,500).
He tweeted: “DMs are flooded.
“Cash on hand: $1,378.84 ($878.84 previous balance + $500 new investment).
“The company is currently valued at $25,000, considering the recent $500 investment for 2%.
Not taking any more investors unless the terms are highly favourable.”
In his latest update, Jackson revealed he is now hiring.
